The 6th Data Stewardship Meeting took place at the Hilde Mangold Haus on January 28, 2026. The CDF welcomed a now established group of round about 15 data stewards at the UFR.
First, the group discussed the importance and role of the RDM representatives at the faculties and research institutions in relation to and in addition to the data stewards at the UFR. The common goal of the growing RDM community is to advance the RDM strategy at the UFR with mutual support.
In the second part of the meeting, Anke Schaub reported on her work in Inorganic Chemistry at the interface between computational chemistry and research data management. She gave a very clear presentation of the current working methods in scientific and, above all, experimental working groups, the advantages and disadvantages of using electronic lab books in her field of work, various RDM related challenges, and also progress in terms of good scientific practice.
The ensuing discussion confirmed once again that the exchange of experiences and valuable tips on specific aspects of FDM are the essence of networking at data stewardship meetings. The next data stewardship meeting is expected to take place in April.
