The Computer Centre of the University of Freiburg enables the university’s institutions and departments to store data on a centralised system (file server), eliminating the need to operate their own storage infrastructure. The systems employed are high-performance, scalable, and efficient. Scientific research groups, institutions, and professorships are provided with a complimentary base allocation of 250 GB. Storage capacity for research groups and professorships is typically implemented in the form of a so-called group drive, which allows for granular permission management.
