The Central Data Facility (CDF) at the University of Freiburg supports humanities researchers with the CDF4Humanities platform. Because of methodological similarities in handling textual data, the platform will also be usable for the social and behavioural sciences. The services of CDF4Humanities enable sustainable, FAIR and reproducible management of research data in the humanities as well. The specific requirements of humanities research - such as handling text corpora, digital editions, image and audio data, or collection data - should be practically implementable with the CDF4Humanities platform.
Cooperation with Galaxy Europe provides access to a globally available analysis platform. CDF4Humanities makes standard tools in Galaxy available in a target group specific way through domain specific curation of template workflows. Self-paced learning materials and consulting from the CDF and the community ease the start, and can also be integrated into teaching. The reproducibility of workflows makes the use of digital tools a permanent part of methodological discourse in the humanities.
The underlying infrastructures for Galaxy Europe are also operated at the University of Freiburg.
